MatchMaker Fund Management – SME Impact Fund

MatchMaker Fund Management (MMFM) is an impact-first, frontier financier specialising in short and medium-term loans and support to early stage agri-SMEs, primarily in food commodities, in East Africa. MMFM has a key strategic focus on local presence and extensive local knowledge in understanding and serving East African markets.

MMFM created the SME Impact Fund (SIF), which addresses the financial challenges that smallholder farmers face and unlock their agricultural potential by financing their buyers (SMEs, i.e. processors). Small Foundation partnered with MMFM on a research project to scope the feasibility of the expansion of SIF to new geographies.
